Avant-Garde magazine was published between January 1968 to July 1971. Edited by Ralph Ginzburg and logo whipped up by the legendary Herb Lubalin, the magazine amassed a cult following in the design community throughout the years for its poignant political commentary, wild fucking art direction and sexual themes. In the November 1969, Volume 9 there is a spread called “Ultra-Violet in Infra-Red” taken on Kodak Aerochrome. The editorial displays nude women in a forest with the green of the plants changed to a pink color, the infamous trait of Aerochrome.
